Filter cleaning is $150 when performed on-route for an active maintenance customer and $250 as a standalone visit. Both include normal teardown, cleaning, reassembly, and operational verification. Replacement cartridges, grids, media, and repairs are quoted separately.

How often should I have my pool filter cleaned?

Every 6 months is the standard recommendation for most residential pools in San Diego. Pools with heavy use, lots of trees, or high calcium levels may benefit from more frequent cleaning.

Is filter cleaning included in maintenance plans?

Premium and Lux include two filter cleans per year. Basic and Full customers pay the $150 on-route rate. Customers without an active maintenance plan pay the $250 standalone rate.

How do I know my filter needs cleaning?

Signs include: filter pressure gauge reading 8-10 PSI above the clean baseline, reduced water flow from return jets, cloudy water despite proper chemical levels, or it has been more than 6 months since the last cleaning.

Do you clean sand filters?

We service cartridge and DE filters. Sand filters typically require backwashing (included in weekly maintenance visits) rather than a teardown clean. If your sand filter needs media replacement, contact us for a quote.

Full Teardown

Deep Clean

High-pressure rinse to remove oils, debris, and mineral buildup. DE filters get a fresh coat of diatomaceous earth.

Reassemble & Test

Everything goes back together, the system is restarted, and we verify proper pressure and flow.
