BlueLux Service Agreement & Public Rate Card
Last Updated: September 20, 2026
This page is the public BlueLux rate card and service agreement. It explains our monthly plans, common service pricing, repair billing, and customer obligations. Use the table of contents below to jump to a specific section. Pricing is current as of the Last Updated date and may be revised with reasonable notice.
Quick Summary
The detailed terms below control.
- Basic includes 24 scheduled chemistry visits per 12 months. Full, Premium, and Lux include 48 scheduled visits per 12 months. Full adds surface skimming, brushing, basket service, and condition-based manual vacuuming. Manual vacuuming is not performed every visit or on a fixed cadence. Filter cleaning, salt-cell cleaning, and specialty chemicals cost extra on Basic and Full. Compare plan details. See chemical coverage.
- On Full, BlueLux may handle a routine item priced under $50 during service when needed to keep circulation, filtration, or sanitation operating. We document it in the service report and bill the published rate. We ask first for any item priced at $50 or more and for any separate service visit. See authorization details.
- Filters must be serviced when due, and salt cells are inspected about quarterly and cleaned only when needed. Pumps must provide adequate flow and run time. Customers must provide access and proper water level. See maintenance requirements. See all customer obligations.
- Arrival timing or the service day may shift within the same service week. BlueLux does not perform routine route service on the listed holidays; a holiday visit is skipped without a billing credit. See the holiday policy.
- Out-of-plan work costs extra. Cancellation deadlines, Lux contract terms, late fees, suspension, and annual price adjustments apply. See service and dispatch pricing. See contract and cancellation terms. See payment terms.
Agreement Overview
This Service Agreement establishes the terms and conditions for professional pool maintenance services provided by BlueLux. This Agreement supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Current pricing for plans and add-on services is published in the Rate Card section below.
Filter & Salt System Policy
Required filter cleaning: must be completed when due. The normal baseline is twice per year, or sooner when pressure, flow, debris, usage, conditions, or manufacturer guidance requires it. Plan-included filter cleaning covers the cleaning service only. Replacement cartridges and grids are replacement parts; sand, glass, and other filter media are maintenance materials. These items are not included in plan pricing or minor-repair coverage. BlueLux will recommend replacement when needed and obtain customer approval before billing for the item and any applicable installation labor.
Condition-based salt-cell cleaning: is performed when inspection shows scale or debris, or when manufacturer guidance calls for it. BlueLux normally inspects salt cells about quarterly. Premium and Lux include up to four cleanings per year when cleaning is actually needed; other plans pay the published on-route or standalone rate.
Proper operation requires both: Customers must promptly approve or arrange required cleanings and keep pumps, filtration, and sanitation equipment operating at adequate flow and run time. If service is delayed or circulation is inadequate, BlueLux cannot properly maintain water clarity, balance, sanitizer production, or equipment operation. Resulting chemicals, visits, cleanup, or repairs are billed separately.
Chemicals Included and Excluded
Included means BlueLux supplies and applies covered chemicals in normal quantities during scheduled visits. It does not mean unlimited products, extra labor, or extra trips. Basic and Full cover only the basic chemicals below. Premium and Lux also cover the listed specialty chemicals, subject to these exclusions.
Basic and Full include
- Routine chlorine sanitizer, including liquid chlorine or tablets when appropriate.
- Muriatic acid or dry acid to lower pH, and standard pH increaser to raise it.
- Sodium bicarbonate or an equivalent alkalinity increaser.
- Routine chlorine shock for an otherwise clean, operating pool.
Specialty chemicals
Cyanuric acid, calcium-hardness increaser, phosphate remover, enzymes, algaecide, clarifier, and stain, scale, or metal-control products are billed separately on Basic and Full. Premium and Lux include routine quantities when BlueLux selects and applies them.
Not included unless expressly stated
- Pool salt and chemicals for startup, drain/refill, green-pool recovery, or contamination response, unless the separately priced service expressly includes them.
- Bulk or abnormal quantities needed because of leaks, equipment or circulation failure, delayed filter or salt-cell service, customer-added products, heavy use, storms, fire or ash, landscaping, or construction.
Service Timing & Cadence
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM
Route day consistency: We establish a normal route day, but arrival time and the service day may shift within the same service week because of traffic, staffing, or route changes. Those shifts are not missed visits. We give notice of lasting changes when practical. Basic includes 24 scheduled visits per 12 months, normally two per month. Full, Premium, and Lux include 48 scheduled visits per 12 months, normally four per month. Flat monthly pricing is based on that annual cadence; fifth-week visits are not included.
Weather: Light weather does not automatically cancel service when work can be performed safely and effectively. Heavy rain, lightning, high winds, flooding, wildfire or ash conditions, unsafe access, or another extreme condition may delay, limit, or require BlueLux to skip a visit. When conditions permit safe access but prevent effective cleaning, BlueLux may perform water testing, chemical balancing, applicable basket service, and an equipment check instead. That limited weather visit counts as the scheduled visit.
Holidays: BlueLux does not perform routine route service on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day. When a regular service day falls on one of these holidays, that visit is skipped and is not rescheduled. Monthly service is a flat rate based on the annual visit cadence, so no billing credit is issued.

Property Scope Adjustments
Monthly plan prices assume one Standard Residential Pool: no more than 20,000 gallons and no more than 600 square feet of water-surface area. Water-surface area means the approximate surface footprint, not the total interior finish area. When volume and surface area fall in different classifications, the higher classification controls. BlueLux may use customer measurements, plans, equipment information, photographs, or an inspection to confirm the classification.
| Component | Definition | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Large Residential Pool | 20,001-30,000 gallons or 601-800 square feet of water-surface area | +$25/month |
| Estate-Scale Pool | More than 30,000 gallons or more than 800 square feet of water-surface area | +$50/month |
| Standard Water Feature | Compact, simple fountain, spillway, bubbler, or similar feature with limited recurring cleaning and treatment needs | +$25/month |
| Enhanced Water Feature | Larger, tiered, multi-zone, multi-basin, or otherwise complex feature with materially greater recurring cleaning or treatment needs | +$50/month |
| Additional Property Scope | One documented, persistent condition expands recurring cleaning, access, floor-care, or equipment-service requirements | +$25/month |
| Complex Property Scope | Multiple persistent qualifying conditions, or one substantial condition, expand the recurring service scope | +$50/month |
Qualifying property conditions may include recurring heavy foliage, pollen, or landscape debris; recurring manual floor cleaning because an effective automatic cleaner is not operating; remote parking, extensive stairs, elevators, multiple secured access points, escort requirements, multiple equipment areas, vanishing-edge or surge-tank systems, advanced automation, or other documented system complexity.
Water features are classified by their recurring maintenance requirements. Independent circulation, filtration, sanitation, or testing is one consideration, but does not automatically make a compact, simple feature Enhanced.
Only one Property Scope Adjustment applies. Conditions do not stack as separate penalties, and work already covered by a pool-size or water-feature component is not counted again. BlueLux prices recurring maintenance according to the contracted scope and pool requirements, not the length of an individual visit. One-time remediation, storm cleanup, and abnormal chemical quantities remain separately priced under the applicable rate-card section.
Any adjustment is identified on the proposal before enrollment. If property conditions later change, BlueLux will document the change and provide the notice required under this Agreement before changing the recurring price. An adjustment may be removed when the underlying condition is permanently corrected.
Comprehensive Rate Card
A) Service Visits & Dispatch
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Standard diagnostic/repair visit (up to 60 min) | $200 |
| Same-day weekday priority dispatch | $300 |
| After-hours, weekend, or holiday dispatch | $400 |
| Single Full Service visit - regularly maintained pool, booked at least 7 calendar days ahead and placed on route | $50 |
| Deep clean / post-construction cleanup (one-time): skim, brush, manual vacuum, filter clean, full chemical balance. Best for a dirty or post-build pool that is not green. | $400 |
Single Full Service visits require at least 7 calendar days' notice and route placement. Shorter notice or a separate trip is priced as a $200 standard dispatch. Fixed-price services include the normal scheduled weekday trip, so dispatch is not stacked; if faster or outside-hours service is requested, the applicable higher priority minimum replaces the lower trip-inclusive price.
B) On-Route Add-On Labor (During Scheduled Visit)
| Duration | Price |
|---|---|
| Up to 15 minutes | $50 |
| Up to 30 minutes | $90 |
| Up to 60 minutes | $150 |
C) Maintenance Add-Ons
| Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
| On-Route Filter Cleaning | Cartridge or DE teardown and cleaning performed during a scheduled route visit for an active maintenance customer | $150/visit |
| Standalone Filter Cleaning | Dedicated cartridge, DE, or sand-filter cleaning visit; pool cleaning, water balancing, and replacement cartridges, grids, or media are separate | $250 |
| On-Route Salt-Cell Cleaning | Condition-based scale or debris cleaning during a scheduled route visit when inspection or manufacturer guidance indicates it is needed | $50/visit |
| Standalone Salt-Cell Cleaning | Dedicated condition-based salt-cell cleaning visit; cell replacement and salt-system repair are separate | $100 |
| Standard Water Feature | Compact, simple fountain, spillway, bubbler, or similar feature with limited recurring cleaning and treatment needs | +$25/month |
| Enhanced Water Feature | Larger, tiered, multi-zone, multi-basin, or otherwise complex feature with materially greater recurring cleaning or treatment needs | +$50/month |

| Phosphate Remover Dosing | Labor block + materials | Materials billed retail |
| Enzyme Treatment Dosing | Labor block + materials | Materials billed retail |
| Algaecide / Specialty Treatment | Labor block + materials | Materials billed retail |
An attached spa that shares the pool's water and equipment is included as one system. Water features are classified by recurring maintenance complexity; independent circulation or testing is one factor, not an automatic Enhanced classification.
D) Seasonal & Temporary Services
One-time or temporary pool care for spring resets, travel coverage, and short-term support.
| Service | Includes | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Vacation Pool Watch | Water testing and balancing, skimming, basket emptying, quick equipment check, service photo/report | $50/visit (3-visit minimum) |
| Spring Startup | Equipment startup, water chemistry balancing, deep cleaning, and system inspection | $350 |
Vacation Pool Watch has a 3-visit minimum and assumes the customer provides chemicals. Filter cleaning, vacuuming, green pool recovery, repairs, or heavy cleanup are billed separately if needed.
E) One-Time Chemical Balancing
| Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
| One-time water rebalance | Best for water that is cloudy, irritating, or out of range when the pool is otherwise clean. Includes testing, dosing, and light surface brushing and skimming only (no vacuuming or filter teardown), plus follow-up guidance. | $225 |
Chemicals are included for every one-time water rebalance, regardless of plan tier or customer type. Same-day weekday or after-hours priority pricing applies only when that faster timing is requested.
F) Drain, Refill & Water Renewal
Two ways to reset your water chemistry: a traditional drain & refill, or on-site reverse osmosis (RO) water renewal that recycles your existing water without draining the pool, ideal during drought or water restrictions.
| Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Water Exchange & Rebalance | One planned partial exchange with pre-test, pump/discharge setup, refill instructions, post-refill test, normal rebalance chemicals, and restart verification | $450 |
| BlueLux-Managed Pool Drain & Startup | BlueLux-managed draining, restart, and normal chemical balancing; homeowner supplies water and monitors the refill | $800 |
| Customer-Managed Pool Refill Startup | Staged startup chemistry and follow-up after the customer or another provider has already drained and refilled the pool | $550 |
| Above-Ground Spa Drain, Clean & Refill | Above-ground portable spa only; excludes attached pool spas, swim spas, contamination remediation, repairs, replacement filters, and unlawful discharge | $250 active plan / $350 standalone |
| RO water renewal (up to 25,000 gal) | On-site RO filtration (no draining) to reduce TDS, CYA, salt, and calcium; includes chemical re-balancing | $1,000 |
| RO water renewal (25,000-30,000 gal) | On-site RO renewal for elevated TDS or CYA without a full drain; includes chemical re-balancing | $1,100 |
| RO water renewal (30,000-35,000 gal) | Includes chemical pre-treatment and post-renewal re-balancing | $1,200 |
| RO water renewal (35,000-60,000 gal) | Large-volume RO renewal; includes chemical re-balancing | $1,500 |
Important
For pool drain work, the homeowner supplies water and monitors the refill; BlueLux does not remain on-site solely to wait for filling. A signed structural-risk acknowledgment is required before a full drain. Partial exchange pricing covers one planned exchange only; if one exchange will not reasonably correct the water, BlueLux will recommend full replacement or RO before work begins. Surface cleaning, stains, multiple exchanges, repairs, filter cleaning, bulk salt, abnormal chemical demand, water charges, continuous fill supervision, and unlawful discharge are excluded unless separately quoted.
G) Pool Startup
| Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
| New surface startup | 10 day program, 7 or more visits, daily brushing, all startup chemistry included | $1,050 |
| New construction / complex startup | Large pools, complex equipment, water features, or multi-body systems | Quoted after review |
New surface startup assumes the pool stays filled and is not used during the plaster cure period. Drain/refill services are listed in section F.
H) Tile & Waterline Cleaning
| Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Light waterline clean | Light oil ring, dirt, and minor scale | $250 |
| Moderate calcium scale | Visible calcium buildup requiring dedicated scale removal | $450 |
| Heavy scale / acid treatment | Severe deposits, specialty treatment, or extensive waterline work | Starting at $750 |
"Starting at" pricing is confirmed after we inspect the surface. On severely etched, heavily calcium-bonded, or permanently stained surfaces, full removal cannot be guaranteed, and aggressive scale or acid treatment can expose existing surface wear.
I) Common Minor Repairs
Labor: If we perform an eligible minor repair during a scheduled maintenance visit, labor is billed at the B) On-Route Add-On Labor rates ($50 up to 15 min, $90 up to 30 min, $150 up to 60 min), unless covered by Premium or Lux. A separate trip is billed as an A) Standard diagnostic/repair visit ($200 up to 60 min). BlueLux does not repair or rebuild pump motors; complete pump replacement may be quoted.
Parts: Billed at retail unless an eligible minor repair qualifies under Premium or Lux. Pumps, heaters/heat pumps, salt systems/cells, filter tanks/vessels, controllers/boards, cleaners, lights, blowers, complete assemblies, and replacement filter parts and media are excluded from every plan regardless of cost.
| Repair Item |
|---|
| Replace pressure gauge |
| Replace pump lid |
| Replace lid o-ring / gasket |
| Replace drain plug / gasket |
| Replace basket / skimmer weir |
| Replace valve handle |
| Replace check valve |
| Replace 2-way / 3-way valve (body replacement) |
| Replace actuator (automation) |
| Replace unions (if leaking) |
| Replace fittings / small PVC section repair (minor) |
| Replace filter air-relief assembly |
| Replace chlorinator/salt flow switch |
J) Equipment Replacement & Installation
These starting labor prices cover a normal replacement on an accessible equipment pad. BlueLux confirms the final scope after diagnosis; equipment and nonstandard work are separate.
| Equipment | Starting Labor Price |
|---|---|
| Pump replacement | Starting at $500 labor + parts |
| Heater or heat-pump replacement | Starting at $1,000 labor + parts |
| Salt system cell replacement | Starting at $200 labor + parts |
| Salt system conversion (chlorine to salt) | Starting at $500 labor + parts |
| Automation controller replacement | Starting at $1,500 labor + parts |
| Filter replacement | Starting at $500 labor + parts |
Published labor assumes a normal replacement on an accessible equipment pad. Equipment, permits, disposal, media, extensive replumbing, equipment-pad reconstruction, and gas or electrical corrections are separate. Salt-system conversions exclude the generator and initial salt.
K) Green-to-Clean / Algae Response
A standard green-to-clean includes up to three treatment visits over seven days, with skimming, brushing, manual vacuuming, one filter cleaning, and normal recovery chemicals. Results depend on equipment operation, starting conditions, and customer access.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Standard green-to-clean treatment for visibly green or algae water (includes multiple visits) | $650 |
| Severe swamp cleanup / heavy debris | Quoted after review |
Standard recovery chemicals are included. Severe debris, repairs, abnormal chemical demand, additional filter service, or work beyond three visits is quoted separately.
L) Pool & Spa Condition Assessment
CPO-led, visual, non-invasive assessment of pool and spa condition for buyers, sellers, realtors, property managers, and homeowners. Full details on the Pool & Spa Condition Assessment page.

Service Agreement Disclaimer
Pool & Spa Condition Assessments are visual, non-invasive, limited to visible and accessible conditions at the time of visit, and do not include code compliance, safety certification, leak detection, structural evaluation, electrical or gas diagnosis, underground plumbing, concealed conditions, equipment disassembly, or guarantees of future performance. Report findings are informational and should be evaluated by qualified licensed professionals where repair, construction, electrical, gas, or compliance work is anticipated.
