Hazards

  • Causes severe skin burns and eye damage
  • Can cause breathing irritation
  • Corrodes metal and bleaches clothing
  • Very toxic to aquatic life

Wear this (PPE)

  • Splash goggles
  • Chemical-resistant gloves
  • Work outdoors or in open air

Never mix with

  • Any acid, including muriatic acid (releases toxic chlorine gas)
  • Trichlor or dichlor tablets and granules
  • Ammonia and ammonia cleaners
  • Organic material and reducing agents

Safe handling

  • Pour slowly into deep water or in front of a strong return jet.
  • Never mix with acid or another chlorine product.
  • Keep in its original vented jug. Heat and sun make it vent pressure.
  • Add only one chemical at a time and let the pump run between.
