Salt-cell cleaning is $50 when performed on-route for an active maintenance customer and $100 standalone. We inspect first and clean only when scale, debris, output, or manufacturer guidance indicates it is needed. Replacement is quoted separately.

Is salt cell cleaning included in maintenance plans?

Premium and Lux include up to four cleanings per year when inspection shows cleaning is actually needed. Basic and Full customers pay $50 on-route; customers without an active maintenance plan pay $100 standalone.

How long does a salt cell last?

A typical salt cell lasts 3-7 years depending on usage, water chemistry, and maintenance. Avoiding scale while also avoiding unnecessary acid exposure helps protect cell life.

Can you clean any brand of salt cell?

Yes. We service all major salt chlorinator brands including Pentair IntelliChlor, Hayward AquaRite, Jandy AquaPure, CircuPool, and CompuPool.

Our Salt Cell Cleaning Process

A clean salt cell produces chlorine consistently and lasts years longer. Here is exactly what we do.

Power Down & Remove

We shut off the salt system, disconnect the cell, and carefully remove it from the plumbing.

Visual Inspection

We check the plates for scale buildup, erosion, and coating wear. If the cell is near end of life, we let you know.

Descaling When Needed

When cleaning is needed, we use a manufacturer-appropriate method and the minimum effective exposure to remove scale without unnecessary plate wear.

Rinse & Reinstall

After descaling, we rinse thoroughly, reinstall the cell, and verify the system is reading and producing properly.

$50 Plan / $100 Standalone

$50 on-route for active plan customers or $100 standalone when inspection shows cleaning is needed. Cell replacement is separate.
